The mother will experience all-over pain due to the stresses of labour.  The arms and legs will be sore.  Although aching legs are normal, if you have pain, tenderness in the calves – it can be due to swollen or red veins – and you should immediately consult the gynaecologist. These symptoms could indicate – THROMBOPHLEHITIS, a condition when veins become inflamed due to blood clots.

Walking soon after your delivery can reduce the chances of thrombophlehitis.

Other post pregnancy indications are stretch marks in the stomach region, darkened areas of skin – the linea nigra and areola and a line running from the belly button to the pubic bone.

You may also notice hair loss about 3 months after birth, which is due to hormonal changes and this will automatically stop within a couple of months after starting.
