Mother With Newborn

Important Note:

The Hospital will ask you for the baby's name soon after delivery, but don't worry, you can tell them that it is yet to be finalized and then, they will proceed to record the birth with the father's and mother's names in the Municipality/Corporation portal, afterwards, once, you get the lucky names from us, you can enter the baby's chosen name in the Municipality/Corporation portal and generate the birth certificate. You have 21 days' time to complete this exercise. We suggest that you check with the hospital also as to how to go about it.

Our Process Explained

As per numerology, the name by which a person is called must be in harmony with his/her date of birth to bring about favourable vibrations. That being said, a person will be called by his "given name" in the normal course and by his "full name" in formal occasions and in all school/official/government records. Therefore, ideally, a person's given name (aka first name), in isolation and the full name should both be lucky as per numerology, i.e., in harmony with one's date of birth.

However, "full names" come in different combinations, as given below.

In North India, people use:

Given Name + Surname (e.g. Ashok Gadia)

OR

Given Name + Father's Given Name + Surname (e.g. Nilesh Hasmukh Patel)

In South India, it varies from state to state and people use any one of the following:

Given Name + Father's Given Name (e.g. Sridhar Natarajan)

Given Name + Father's Given Name + Surname [often, the surname is community name] (e.g. Sajish Aravindakshan Nair)

Family Name/Native Place + Given Name (e.g. Konidela Suresh, Garimella Srinivas)

Native Place + Father's Given Name + Given Name (e.g. Cholenahalli Nanjappa Manjunath)

Family Name/Native Place + Given Name + Surname [usually, the surname is community name] (e.g. Adala Muralikrishna Reddy)

Some also use initials of the father's name and native place name.

We suggest that you adopt a full name in the "given name + surname" format, where the surname could be any of the following, gotra name  or khap name or family name or native place or community/caste name or father's given name and in cases, where the family name/native place usually appears in the beginning of the name will now move to the end of the name as is the case with surnames. Those who don't use surname/family name/native place/community name, they can go with the father's given name as surname.

Why we recommend the " given name + surname" format is because, in the future, when a person is applying for a passport in India, they ask for the given name and surname and this is what appears as a person's name in the passport. So, by adopting this name combination, one can right from the very beginning ensure that the name in all the official records viz. birth certificate, school records, aadhaar, passport, PAN, bank accounts, etc. are matching  thereby avoiding the need to apply for correction in the name in any of the official documents/identification records  when somewhere one is stuck and the system doesn't accept because of mismatch between one record and another.

Please note that the middle name is not mandatory in India and even in many foreign countries like USA, etc.

Accordingly, the lucky name that we will be providing for your baby would be :
Lucky Given Name (as per numerology) ["given name" is also referred to as "first name"]
&
Lucky Full Name (as per numerology) i.e. Given Name + Surname combination, where surname could be any of the following, viz. gotra name or khap name or family name or native place or community/caste name or father's given name.

However, this is a challenging exercise and more often than not, it can be achieved only by adding/subtracting some alphabets to/from the first name or surname or both to obtain the desired numerical value while keeping the pronunciation intact.  As far as possible, we try to keep the given name as such and if at all we make some tweaks, it would be minor, for example, KARTHIK, may be asked to be written as KARTHIC, whereas, we make bold changes in the surname to obtain the desired numerical value. For example, the surname KOTHARI may have to be altered to KOTHARRI or KOTARE.

If you have alternative surnames, please mention the same as we can explore the option of using those, in case the original surname furnished by you doesn't gel well from the numerological perspective and requires considerable tweaking. In some instances, the alternative surname might end up being appropriate as per numerology, as it is or with a subtle tweak vis-à-vis the existing surname used by your family. This concept is explained further by way of illustrations:

Illustration 1

If you have been using the surname Jain, you can give your gotra name e.g. Gadia, Shrishrimal, Pagariya, etc., as alternative surnames and vice versa, i.e., if you are using, say, Gadia as surname, you can give Jain as an alternative.

Illustration 2

If your family has been using the "Agarwal" surname, then you can mention your gotra, like Goenka, Chokhani, etc. as alternatives or some other khap (if available) and vice versa.

Illustration 3

If your family has been using the "Maheshwari" surname, then you can provide the khap names like Biyani, Chandak, etc. as alternative surnames and if you are currently using the khap name, then, you can give "Maheshwari" as an alternate surname.

Illustration 4

If you use caste name "Reddy" as surname, then you can give family name like Magunta/Kallam and if you use both, anyone that is suitable can be used as a surname. Mention one against the Surname/Family Name/Last Name column and another in Alternate Surnames column.

Note: You don't have to worry that your daughter/son will be using a different surname from that of yours or his/her siblings, it is legally permissible, where a justifiable and rational explanation can be given (i.e. the connection to the surname should be conveyed). If at all, a query is raised about the offspring's surname being different from that of the father, you can explain the rationale behind it and the same will be accepted. There are many instances of children's and father's surnames being different, father might have the surname "Gadia" and the son might have the surname "Jain".

Therefore, the full name that we would be providing for your baby would be, given name + surname. You must submit this name, as it is, for getting the birth certificate and in all the official records. Enter given name (aka first name) in the relevant column and surname in the relevant column, as provided by us, use the spelling provided by us, don't change it. Don't insert the father's given name or father's given name first letter (i.e. initial) and in cases, where the father's given name is the surname, you shouldn't abbreviate it and give the first letter as initial. If there is a middle name column in any form, put a dash to indicate that there is no middle name.

For those (mostly South Indians), who normally have a given name + father’s given name combination, wherein the father's given name becomes the surname, we ensure that the given name and the entire name, both are in harmony with the person’s date of birth by adding/subtracting alphabets to/from the father’s given name in a dramatic fashion than with the given name  so, for example, if the father’s given name is Mahesh, it may become Maheysh or Muhheyssh and so on. You must submit this name, as it is, for getting the birth certificate and in all the official records thereafter and not give the father's given name first letter as initial. Enter the given name (aka first name) in the relevant column and father's given name in the surname column.

Note: In some of the statutory forms, school application forms, etc., the term "given name" may also be referred to as "first name" and both mean the same. Likewise, "Surname" may be referred to as "Last Name" in some application forms and both denote the same.

Hereinafter, the terms first name and given name may be used interchangeably in this website, either in singular or plural and may it be known that it would have the same meaning.

For those who have a "given name + father's given name" combination as full name, the reference to surname, in this context stands for the father's given name.

The lucky names as per numerology will be sent to you by email, to the email address provided by you while placing your order and this email communication from us shall be construed as fulfilment/execution of your order. In the case of an order for lucky names for a newborn, wherein the order is placed by someone authorised by one of the parents, then, the lucky names will be sent to the email address of the person who placed the order as well as the parent's email address provided while placing the order and these email communications shall be construed as fulfilment/execution of the order. However, if you let us know that you haven't received our email, we shall re-send it.

Important: Once you go with a lucky name given by us, don't call your baby by any pet name, nickname or shortened version, it would defeat the purpose.  You must discourage others also from doing so.  You must introduce your kid to others by his/her first name (aka given name). At the appropriate stage, your kid must also be taught to introduce himself/herself by the first name and insist on being called so. In a formal setting, your kid may be taught to introduce himself/herself by the given name + surname. Being addressed by just the surname should be gently discouraged unless otherwise authorized by us.
